School Climate Improvement

We believe schools can transform into spaces where children want to learn. In order to achieve this, we work with school communities to center the student experience in all implementation strategies.

Our partnership with school communities begins with four initial stages:

  1. Asset Assessment: The SCIC teams want to begin with what is working well! This means our team in collaboration with key stakeholders in the community review four key areas we identify are critical for working towards school improvement.

  2. Review of School Space: Historically, schools are physical spaces that do not reflect ideals of fun, independent learning, or joy. Our team will do initial walk-ins, meet with key stakeholders and conduct focus groups in order to better understand what the community believes are critical areas of improvement.

  3. Capacity Building: Connect with the school community to help develop team members through one-on-one coaching or group learning sessions.

  4. Templates for Improvement in Areas such as student recruitment, student engagement, family engagement, and development of SEL supports.

SCIC begins with a more inward approach toward improvement that involves hearing all voices within a school community regarding developing best practices and transforming school communities into places children want to be.

International Baccalaureate Designation Support

Schools across the United States recognize that transdisciplinary is a valuable approach to teaching 21st-century learners. As such, many communities are adopting the principles outlined by International Baccalaureate Programs. Due to limited guidance, securing this designation requires a lot of intentional shifts in pedagogical practices, school structure, and student progress monitoring. Our team can support you with securing this designation through the following:

  1. IB / Common Core Aligned Units for Grades K-6

  2. Creating a Pathways to Trandsciplinary Learning
