OUR STORY

Education in the U.S. continues to be a field where many are puzzled concerning what strategies will lead to improved student outcomes, efficient school operations, and the elimination of academic achievement gaps. School districts and school communities continue to approach solving education challenges with a one size fits all approach. As educators, our team has both witnessed and experienced firsthand the challenges and roadblocks that prevent school communities from thriving. 


Seeing Color in the Classroom (SCIC) believes empowerment strategies and providing pathways to sustainability are closely linked and necessary for shifting academic outcomes in all school communities.  SCIC seeks to create customized solutions that address the historical and contemporary challenges prohibiting student success with an approach that maximized the resources within every school community. As school communities continue to seek to evolve to better support their community. Evolution often involves conducting internal work to improve practices.

Our approach affords schools and SCIC staff to come together and become thought partners, resource developers, and collaborators for determining how to best launch strategies that transform school communities.
